The Truth Team took a look at just five of the ways President Obama’s policies are supporting women and the economy. Here's the top three:

    1. Since President Obama took office, women have gained 1,166,000 private sector jobs. Women now make up more of the workforce than they did in January 2008 before the financial meltdown. [Source: BLS]

    2. The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act was the first bill that President Obama signed into law, making it easier for women fight pay discrimination and get equal pay for equal work. [Source: White House]

    3. President Obama extended the payroll tax cut, which provided an average of $1,000 in tax relief for nearly 75 million women. [Source: White House]
