Allan, Miranda and Vice President Biden
By on
Allan and his daughter Miranda saw Vice President Biden speak in Exeter, New Hampshire this week. After the speech, Allan, an accountant, offered his thoughts on the Vice President's message:
"I thought it was very informative about the economics: the Buffett Rule, the 'Romney Rule,' and what they really mean. I think he explained [the Buffett Rule] pretty well: how it affects us—the middle class—and that most millionaires are patriotic, but they're just doing what they're legally able to do."
Allan says he was also surprised to hear that student loan interest rates will double this summer unless Congress acts:
"That's a shocker! I mean—I have one of those! But I was impressed with where they're going in terms of wanting to put more money in education—that's one of the important things, and investing in the American people."
When asked whether he plans to vote for President Obama this fall, Allan didn't hesitate. "Of course! There's no question about it. Absolutely. I'm voting for him because of common-sense things: the way the economy is, the way our country is, and where we are right now. It just makes more sense."
