Abbey: “I believe in you, Mr. President”
By on

How has education reform affected me? Simple: Without assistance from the government I would not be going to school. I am 21 years old and I work three jobs to help support my disabled mother who is on Social Security, and even with my leftover pay, I still would not have had enough to go to school.
Thanks to student loans and education reform I am now a successful political science student at Eastern Michigan University, I am involved in student government, I am the fundraising coordinator for Model U.N., and I am the president of the College Democrats club. This summer, thanks to my summer financial aid, I have been accepted into a program at my dream school of Georgetown.
I will be living, studying, and interning in D.C. because I was able to afford to go to school. I want to say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for all the work you do for our country. I believe in change and I believe in you, Mr. President.
