President Obama has stood by his commitment to make college more affordable for Hispanics. From doubling the amount of money spent on Pell Grants to investing 1 billion dollars in Hispanic Serving Institutions, President Obama and his administration have worked hard to improve access to higher education for all. The President’s student loan reform has doubled the amount spent on Pell Grants, which will provide 150,000 additional Hispanic students with the means to go to college. Now, the President has taken executive action that will make it easier for many college students, including Hispanic students, to repay their federal student loans.

This historic reform will allow students to consolidate their loans, lowering their interest rates and reducing monthly payments for nearly 6 million eligible borrowers. This will help many thousands of Hispanic students better manage their student loans after they graduate.
