• A Campaign Family

"I would feel so bad if President Obama didn't win, and I hadn't done my part -- so that's why I started volunteering."

Vernessa's been a member of her team since early this year. Her team started by phonebanking twice a week out of each other's homes, and now they meet at the Belleveue office to phonebank and canvass everyday. The team is like a family, and Vernessa agreed she’s going to miss this time when the election ends.

"It's been very rewarding for me -- I've met a lot of great people. It's fun meeting people, knowing you're doing things that need to be done. We have potlucks and meet at people's homes. You know what really inspires me is the young people dedicating all of their time to this campaign."

There was one theme that came up over and over when I talked to Vernessa and her teammates - We can't go back. "Why do I volunteer? Women's rights, choice, equal pay -- we can't go back to the 1950s."

Do you agree that we can't go back to the 1950s? Join the Obama for America family and make a difference during the last 10 days of the campaign. Find an event near you.
