Welcome to Asian American and Pacific Islanders for Obama

Welcome to Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) for Obama. Our AAPI community is a diverse group, and we hope you find the resources you’ll need to organize and help build this campaign one conversation at a time. There is a lot at stake this November for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, and it’s why it’s important to get involved.

President Obama has deep ties to the AAPI community, and he knows our country is strongest when everyone has a seat at the table and a shot at the American dream. In his first year in office, the President signed an Executive Order to re-establish the White House Initiative on AAPIs and the President’s Advisory Commission on AAPIs. He’s making an estimated 40,000 more Pell Grants available to AAPI students by 2020 and more than $7 billion in loans to Asian American small-business owners.

AAPIs were a critical part of the diverse coalition of voters that elected President Obama in 2008—and we will be critical again in re-electing him in 2012. Despite being one of the fastest growing populations in the United States, roughly half of the eligible AAPIs are registered to vote. It’s important that we, as the AAPI community register to vote and get involved to re-elect the President.

We can only re-elect the President if we join together and talk to our friends, neighbors, and families about the President’s accomplishments. Join AAPIs for Obama today and we will work together to empower our community and re-elect the President.
