Ted Sorensen to join Obama in Iowa

The Chicago Tribune | October 01, 2007

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama will be joined Tuesday on the campaign trail in Iowa by Ted Sorensen, a top adviser to President Kennedy.

Sorensen will introduce the Illinois Democrat before speeches in Des Moines and Coralville, where Obama will travel after delivering a foreign policy speech in Chicago, five years to the day after he delivered a speech in Federal Plaza that opposed the invasion of Iraq.

Obama will deliver the Chicago version of the speech at DePaul University.

He gave the 2002 speech shortly before the Senate -- including two of his top challengers for the nomination -- voted to authorize force to oust Saddam Hussein. Those lawmakers were Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York and former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards.
